A remarkable architectural heritage and landscape preservation heritage

Built on a hill of sandstone and marnes showing up in places, the old town center is nested inside the ancient city walls.
Restored and protected since 1946, you can discover along the streets: the old shops, the carved lintels, corbelled houses and the Regain museum that you can visit only in the summer.  During the warmest hours, you will appreciate its freshness and the exquisite music from the water fountains.

The cultivation terraces, rock shelters and paved trails, built by man over the centuries, on the outskirts of the village of Annot are also participating in its heritage. They contribute to the harmonious landscape where the carved stone of the building is based on the rough stone carved by time.

The market

Strolling through the market on Tuesday morning, is a pleasant way to start exploring the village. Beyond the colorful stalls selling clothes, flowers and plants, your eyes will feast on strawberries, cheese, porcini mushrooms or melons depending on the season.

To wait until lunch, go for a portion of socca, a chickpeas flour pancake, enjoyed on the premises, right out of the oven. Unless you would rather sit down at a terrace cafes lining the square.
